Donnington Hospital comprises a set of almshouses that were first built in 1393 by Sir Richard Abberbury the Elder to house thirteen poor men. This engraving shows the almshouses after they were rebuilt in the 1600s. Today the almshouses are part of the Hartley Trust and serve as retirement homes for single men.
