This wooden bowl was one of several that George Lailey was working on before his death at the age of 89. When making bowls, George Lailey (1869–1958) would normally carve a rough version of the bowl, then leave it in an space where it would not be exposed to the wind and sun for ten days before finishing them off. This bowl has had the outside shape completed, but not yet had the inside carved out.
