Photograph of Shaw House, 1889

Accession Number:

NEBYM:1950.18.2

Following an unsuccessful attempt to sell Shaw House in 1888, Isabelle Eyre continued to live in the building until 1891.  In this image, taken in 1889, the ivy on the building has grown over a great deal of the front of the house.  Standing on the lawn in front of the building is a gentleman wearing a bowler hat.  This could be one of Isabelle’s five sons Henry, Edward, John, Douglas or Charles.
