This print engraving of Donnington Castle was produced by the artist Samuel Hooper (1733-1793). In the caption of the engraving Hopper called Donnington Castle Dunnington Castle, although he was not the only one. Several of Hooper’s contemporaries also called Donnington Castle, Dunnington Castle, despite the fact that Dunnington is a village North Yorkshire and does not have a castle.
