Watercolour by Gina Houghton, 2006. It was copied from a photograph of the same view from the front cover of the Newbury Town Design Statement 2005. Exhibited at the 2006 Summer Exhibition of the Newbury Art Group, Desmoulin Gallery, The Wharf, Newbury. The artist’s father was a soldier in the Polish Army, who was captured in Warsaw and a PoW for most of WWII. Gina spent her early years in a refugee camp in Southampton and moved to Newbury in the 1980s. Gina enjoyed art at school and joined Newbury Art Group in 1998.
